Mobilizing the museum’s permanent collection

 

From 3-5pm on Wednesday 7 August, Eric Longo from the Museum Computer Network, Emily Black Fry from the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and Emily Lytle-Painter from the J. Paul Getty Museum talk about keeping your permanent collection fresh through a mobile experience.

Eric Longo is Executive Director for Museum Computer Network and an independent mobile consultant. He led business development and client services for Antenna Audio. He also teaches a mobile marketing class at NYU.

Emily Black Fry is the Interpretive Planner at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri. She designs visitor experiences and interpretative strategies for featured exhibitions and permanent collection reinstallations. Additionally, she has led the research and development of the Nelson’s mobile interpretive strategy and Mobile Guide web-based application tour and piloted other multimedia platforms for in-gallery and online use.

Emily Lytle-Painter, Educational Technologist, J. Paul Getty Museum. Emily is interested in utilizing digital media to develop rich experiences for museum visitors, both in person and online. At the Getty, she is responsible for digital strategy, online content development and project management for Museum Education.
